Alakazam Labs builds custom business software and moves companies off platforms like Quickbase and HubSpot, or off the spreadsheets they've outgrown. You own the code and the data. The same AI agent team that built it stays on and makes changes when your staff ask. Our people check the agents' work while we build.

What we do

Three ways to work with us.

Every one starts with a free call. If what you have today is the better deal, we'll say so.

01 · Move off a platform

Leave Quickbase or HubSpot

We rebuild the app your business runs on as software you own, and move your data across, checked.

  • About 3.5 weeks for a typical Quickbase app
  • Your records, reports, roles and workflows come across
  • No per-user fees after the move

Our proven moves so far are from Quickbase. HubSpot uses the same approach.

Quoted after a free reviewROI usually happens around 6 to 8 months.

02 · Build something new

Custom software

The tool your business needs that nothing off the shelf does well, or the spreadsheets you've outgrown, turned into a real app.

  • Built around how your team already works
  • Office and phone screens
  • Connects to the systems you keep
Quoted after a free callYou own the code and the data.
How a build works →
03 · Get an AI team

Agent team setup

A team of AI agents with real jobs (dispatcher, bookkeeper, app builder) on a server you control, running on the AI plan you already pay for.

  • From $1,500: we install K2 and get your team running (no software build included)
  • From $3,000: a full team set up for you
  • You set the rules for what they can do
From $1,500Depends on team size.

How it works

The team that builds it stays with it.

With us, launch isn't the end of the project. The agent team that built your app stays on your server, knows every table and rule, and makes changes when your staff ask in plain words.

  1. Day 1 · free

    Review

A call about what you run today, what it costs, and what you wish it did.

  2. By week 1.5

    Built and moved

Our agents and our people rebuild it, then copy your records across and check them.

  3. Weeks 1.5 to 3.5

    Fine-tuned

Your staff use it on real data and tell us what to change, until it fits.

  4. After launch

    Your team stays

Staff ask for changes and the agents make them, inside the rules you set. Want our people watching too? That's ongoing care.

Timeline for a typical Quickbase app. Bigger moves with several connected apps take longer; we give you a timeline after we map yours.

On your phone

Run your business software from your phone.

Your crews work in your software on their phones, and your agent team is a message away in the K2 phone app. Nobody waits until they're back at a desk.

  • Your crewsSee their own jobs, add photos and fill in forms on their phones. Each person sees only what they need.
  • YouMessage your agent team from the K2 phone app: ask for a change, ask what's late, answer their questions.
  • Your agentsMake the change, or ask you first on your phone when it's a change you've said needs your OK.

Rosson and team are exactly what you look for in a development partner. They are responsive and thorough. We have had them develop multiple apps for us and every time they have delivered more than we imagined.

Rosson and Baden have been amazing to work with. Our company has implemented a number of different tools over the last 10 years, many of which we self created, and while they got the job done, they were always a little clunky and hard to achieve adoption.

Questions

Questions people ask us.

What does Alakazam Labs do?

Alakazam Labs is a software company that builds custom business software and moves companies off platforms like Quickbase and HubSpot, using AI agent teams. Clients own the code and data, and the same agents keep improving it. Alakazam also makes K2, the software its agent teams run on, free to download at k2.dev.

What is an agent team?

A small group of AI agents, each with a job, like app builder, dispatcher or bookkeeper. They work on your server, remember the work, and can hand tasks to each other. They work inside the rules you set: what they can change on their own, and what waits for your OK. If you want our people checking on them too, that's our ongoing care service.

Is K2 the same as Kimi K2?

No. K2 by Alakazam Labs is our software for running teams of AI agents on a computer you own, free to download at k2.dev. It isn't related to Moonshot's Kimi K2 model.

Do I need to understand AI to work with you?

No. If you can describe a change in a message, you can direct your agent team. That's the whole interface. We set everything up and show your team how it works.

How long does it take?

A typical Quickbase app takes about 3.5 weeks: built and your data moved by week 1.5, then two weeks of fine-tuning with your team. Bigger moves with several connected apps take longer. Appalachian Field Service's took about a month and a half. We give you a timeline after we map what you have.

What happens after launch?

Your agent team stays on. Your staff ask for changes in plain words, and the agents make them, within the rules you set. When something breaks or you're stuck, email us or book a call: expert help is there whenever you want it. If you want people to keep an eye on the agents and handle the fiddly parts as a standing service, that's ongoing care, priced by the size of your team. New features are quoted as their own build.

Can we leave you later?

Yes. You own the code and the data. Any developer can work on it, and you can run it on your own server. K2, the software the agents run on, is free to download.

What does it cost?

The first call and app review are free. From $1,500 we install K2 and get your agent team running, and you build from there. A full agent team setup starts at $3,000. Rebuilds and custom builds are quoted after the free review, and on rebuilds, ROI usually happens around 6 to 8 months. There are no per-user fees. See pricing.

Tell us what you're running on.

The free call is with the people who would do the work. You come away with an honest answer on whether a change is worth it for you, including "keep what you have" if that's right.
